Morocco Marrakech – Merzouga circuit 3 days / 2 nights
This 3-day / 2-night circuit from Marrakech to Merzouga is designed for a true crossing towards the Moroccan desert. Desert Star Travel, based in M’hamid El Ghizlane (the desert gateway), promises an experience through many beautiful places. Day one departs at 8 am from Marrakech, crosses the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 m), visits Aït Ben Haddou (Morocco’s most famous kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site), Ouarzazate, the Skoura oasis, Kalaa M’gouna and the Valley of the Roses, to the Dadès gorges for dinner and the night.
Day two leads, via the Dadès valley, to the Todra gorges (walk and lunch), then along the Ziz valley to the Merzouga dunes, with an hour by camel to reach Erg Chebbi and admire the sunset, dinner and night in a Bedouin tent. Day three, after sunrise, returns towards Ouarzazate then Marrakech, via the Saghro mountains and villages such as Rissani, Tazarin (a backdrop for the film “Babel”) and the Draa valley. A guided experience rich in landscapes, kasbahs, dunes, Saharan night and Moroccan light.
