This Bird Route in Portugal is an ideal nature break for slowing down, observing and rediscovering the landscape differently. The walk takes place in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a maze of channels, marsh vegetation and salt pans where light reflects on the water and the sea air is loaded with salt.
For about 3 hours, the experience invites you to take your time: spotting many aquatic birds, listening to their distinct songs, sometimes crossing paths with a chameleon (Chamaeleo chamaeleon) and discovering age-old traditions such as salt production. It is a gentle, accessible activity, very different from adrenaline outings, yet valuable for those looking for calmer contact with wildlife.
